From Garnette Bowler, Wirral Green Party:-
EVEN if you have made all your New Year resolutions, there is still time for you and me as motorists to make another one - to REDUCE OUR SPEED on the roads.
Each year, 5,000 child pedestrians and cyclists are killed or seriously injured on Britain's roads. If these figures applied to death and serious injury from any other cause there would be an outcry.
Merseyside and Cheshire have been named as two of the most dangerous places in Britain for road deaths. What an achievement if by this time next year they can be the lowest.
We can do it - it's up to you and me.
