POLICE are hunting for a robber who held a female cashier at knife-point and escaped with a "substantial amount" of cash during a raid on the Apollo Cinema, Wallasey, on Monday night. The man, described as being white and 5ft 10" tall, was said to be wearing dark clothing and a peaked cap with ear flaps. DC Gregson, of Wallasey CID, said: "The robbery took place at about 9.25pm when the cinema was open, which showed a blatant disregard for public safety."
